Organized in September, 1991, our office is located in the former United States District Courthouse built in Victoria in 1912. The firm places special emphasis on trial work with concentration on various forms of civil litigation. We also have an extensive business and commercial law practice, including business entity formation, acquisitions and divestitures, financing transactions, employment matters, contracts, collections, commercial real estate, oil and gas transactions, and relations with local governments.
Our lawyers know this area of Texas, having tried many lawsuits in Victoria and the surrounding counties. We are the primary defense firm for international corporations with area plants and facilities, insurance companies, and local banks. Though based in Victoria county, we routinely practice in surrounding counties, including Calhoun, Goliad, Refugio, Jackson, Wharton, Lavaca, Dewitt, Gonzales and Bee. Due to the central location of Victoria, we also handle cases that are within two hours of Victoria in Bexar, Brazoria, Harris, Matagorda, Nueces, San Patricio and Travis counties, as well as in the less populated counties in between. The firm’s attorneys have represented chemical, aluminum, oil and other companies engaged in basic industries in a variety of contexts. The firm has handled personal injury, employment discrimination, property damage, and ground water contamination cases as well as toxic and mass torts, including several arising from highly publicized incidents. We handle business transactions involving acquisitions, expansion, disposal and financing of physical plant assets. We provide counsel in regards to employee and human resource conflict issues, negotiations with respect to resource renewal issues and environmental remediation activities and relations with local governmental entities and other public constituencies.
